CERAMIC TILES FOR THE FLOOR

Ceramic tiles “from the kitchen”

Floor ceramic tiles have a great advantage – they are very durable and resistant to mechanical damage. They are perfect for our kitchen, bathroom, living room or terrace.
We no longer have to worry about unsightly scratches and dents on the floor, which usually occur as a result of dropping a heavy object, moving furniture or are simply evidence that our animal companion likes to run freely around the house and play without any restrictions.

Abrasion class

However, we should know that ceramic tiles have different technical parameters that will allow us to choose the right tiles for the type of room in which they are to be used. One of the basic technical criteria is the abrasion class. The harder the tile, the more resistant it will be to damage, including glaze abrasion. We distinguish five abrasion classes. First-class tiles can be placed on the floor in the bedroom and some bathrooms, generally in rooms where we move barefoot or in soft shoes. In a living room with little traffic, and therefore the tiles are not heavily exploited, tiles with the second abrasion class will work well. The third abrasion class gives us considerable comfort of use: tiles marked with this value will work well in the kitchen, bathroom, hall or living room. Moreover, we can successfully use them not only inside homes, but also outside: on the terrace or balcony. Tiles with the third abrasion class are durable and will delight us with their beauty for a long time. On the other hand, fourth and fifth class tiles are used in public places, such as hospitals, schools, shops, and in places with heavy pedestrian traffic.

Feel safe, or a few words about anti-slip properties

The second, extremely important technical parameter of tiles is their anti-slip properties, which ensure the safety of using floor tiles. Anti-slip standards are particularly adhered to in public places: in hospitals, shops or swimming pools. In our homes, of course, we do not have to use anti-slip tiles, but due to the risk of falling, it is worth considering this topic and choosing tiles that will protect us from dangerous slipping (especially when we plan to lay tiles in the bathroom, on the terrace or balcony). Anti-slip floor tiles will also protect our children, running around the house with energy, from many bumps and bruises.

Stylish interior

Another advantage of ceramic tiles is that they look very stylish on the floor. Currently, manufacturers offer us tiles that brilliantly imitate wood or stone. We can arrange them in various interesting patterns that will create an original composition and make us feel really good in our homes.
