Beveling (also known as chamfering or grinding) tiles involves cutting the tiles at a 45-degree angle for a sleek finish on corners. This is done using special water-based machines or an angle grinder. Beveling is a labor-intensive task that requires a high degree of precision. If you lack experience in such tiling tasks, it's definitely better to hire a proven professional.

An Excellent Solution for Corners
Mosaic often decorates not only the walls and floors of our rooms but also serves as a very stylish finish for shelves, niches, or various types of built-in elements. In the case of these features, skillfully beveling the sharp edges of tiles is very important and gives our bathroom an excellent look. Therefore, anyone who decides to lay mosaic tiles on their own at home will have to ensure not only the leveling of the substrate, proper adhesion of the sheets, or grouting. One of the decisions to be faced will be choosing how to finish the corners. We can opt for the use of trim. However, if we are not convinced by this solution, beveling the tiles at the right angle will be the appropriate choice. In the case of mosaic, which consists of many small elements, only a manual angle grinder will suffice. To achieve a good result, each piece must be ground individually. This is a long and time-consuming process, but if done correctly, the results will be spectacular. It's extremely important not to damage the glaze during the process. However, if we are unsure whether we can handle such a demanding material or simply don't have the time to perfect every piece of tile, it is worth seeking the help of a professional. We must, however, consider that beveling mosaic tiles will cost a considerable amount. Currently, the prices for this service are around 50 PLN/m for ceramic tiles and 60 PLN/m for porcelain mosaic. For comparison, the cost of beveling traditional ceramic tiles is about 20 PLN/m, while trimming porcelain tiles costs about 30 PLN/m. Grinding mosaic tiles has another important advantage: it protects each element from damage and, according to many experts, offers excellent visual effects.
