Do you dream of a black bathroom but don't know how to design it? We have prepared a collection of trendy and practical inspirations to help you create a stylish bathroom with black as the main element.
Black Bathroom – What's the Trend About?
Black is a classic, timeless color that is also incredibly popular in interior design. Rooms where black is the main motif are associated with luxury, elegance, sophistication, and versatility. Therefore, it's no surprise that for the past few seasons, the black bathroom has been a hit, a complete opposite to the once extremely fashionable white interiors.

Black is a color for everyone – fans of modernity, minimalism, classic style, glamour, industrial style, and even boho. All-black bathrooms or those with distinctive black accessories or furniture are the perfect backdrop for unique arrangements, and thanks to their versatility, they will remain fashionable for many years to come. Contrary to appearances, black doesn't have to be gloomy – the key to success is choosing the right fixtures and lighting, which will add shine and atmosphere to the interior.
A bathroom – black or with black accents – will work regardless of the size of the room. This color, when combined with other colors and by using patterns and textures, can visually enlarge a small bathroom or add a cozy atmosphere to a large interior.

Black Bathroom – Inspirations
So, what furniture, accessories, and fixtures should be in a black bathroom? Let's start with perhaps the most popular way to introduce this color into the interior, which is with tiles. Black tiles can adorn both the floor and the walls, including in the shower or above the bathtub. However, if you associate them only with square shapes and gloss, you are mistaken – black tiles can be much more original.
Let's start with the pattern – you have a choice of both monochrome colors and tiles with subtle decorations. Their surface also influences the perception of the interior – a satin finish elegantly reflects light, while a matte finish gives a cozy effect and perfectly masks streaks or stains. As mentioned, black tiles can have various shapes, such as hexagonal (the so-called honeycombs), arabesques, fish scales, bricks, herringbone, diamond, or thin slats. You can let your imagination run wild and opt for fancy shapes, both on the entire surface of the wall or floor, as well as on individual fragments.
What else is worth adding to the bathroom? The furniture can of course be black – a chest of drawers, a towel rack, a radiator, shelves or racks. Their choice will be an original way to move away from white and create an elegant, sophisticated interior. Black furniture can be complemented by black ceramics – an industrial shower made of glass and metal, a black bathtub, a sink, a toilet or a bidet. When arranging, it is also worth remembering accessories such as organizers and containers for cleaning products, flower pots, towel or paper holders. The arrangement will of course be completed by lighting – will you opt for minimalist sconces, or perhaps an elegant, impressive chandelier?
However, there are a few rules to follow when decorating a bathroom with black as the main element. First of all, you can break the black background with another color. Black goes well not only with white, but also with shades of gray, bottle green, pastel pink, navy blue, or energizing colors – red, yellow, or blue. If you are aiming for a more luxurious effect, ideal duos are of course black and gold or black and silver.
Using decorative concrete, marble, wood, brick, or glass is also a great idea. Concrete is a good choice for industrial and minimalist interiors, where it emphasizes the raw character of the arrangement. Marble, on the other hand, will give an impression of luxury and elegance. Wood and brick will warm up a black bathroom and add a cozy atmosphere to it, and glass not only reflects light, but also brings out the depth of the interior.

Black Bathroom – Arrangements
There are many ways to design a black bathroom, so you don't know which one to choose? We have prepared three ideas for original arrangements – in a modern, industrial, and glamour version. Take advantage of our tips, and your bathroom will be not only stylish but also practical.

Black Bathroom – Modern Style Inspirations
Modern bathrooms are a mix of minimalism, extravagance, and original solutions. Make sure your bathroom has these three features.
Start decorating with the background, i.e., the floor and walls. Cover them with bathroom tiles – for the floor, opt for classic honeycomb-shaped tiles with a matte finish, such as Hexagon Large Dark Grey Matte. When it comes to the wall, diversify its appearance a bit and divide the room into zones. Decorate the lower part of the wall with snow-white brick-shaped tiles – also lay the same tiles along the shower. Decorate the remaining surface with identical tiles, but in black – Mini Brick Black Matte will work perfectly here.
Time to choose the fixtures – let the shower be minimalist, made entirely of glass. The toilet and bidet can be all white, but a bowl-shaped sink in a bottle green shade will break the colors. Hang a mirror in a thick frame of the same color above it.
Instead of a classic chest of drawers, choose a long countertop lined with black tiles. Place a tall black shelf on the side, on which you will put black towels and organizers. Let a black wooden box be in the corner of the room, which will serve as an original stool or laundry basket.

Black Bathroom – Loft Style Arrangements
In an industrial bathroom, focus on three colors – the irreplaceable black, gray, and silver. Start with the tiles – lay arabesque-shaped tiles on the floor, such as Arabesque Large Black Matt. Cover one of the walls with tiles imitating decorative concrete in a light shade, and decorate the remaining ones with a diamond pattern – Diamond Black Matte will work perfectly here. Against the background of the concrete wall, place a freestanding black bathtub, preferably in a vintage style. Choose a tall, silver faucet for it, which will emphasize the industrial character of the interior. Place a black metal side table next to it.
The remaining fixtures – the toilet bowl, sink, or bidet – should also be black. Add a metal and glass shelf unit to them, and instead of a chest of drawers – a matching console table. Hang a silver chandelier in the middle of the bathroom to brighten the interior.
Black, Small Bathroom in a Glamour Style
The glamour style is synonymous with elegance and luxury. In a glamour bathroom, combine three colors – black, white, and gold. Let the tiles be entirely black – those with a glossy finish will work great for the glamour style. Lay tiles with an original mosaic on the wall, such as Constellation Black Gloss, and the aforementioned arabesque on the floor. Place a white freestanding bathtub in the center with a gold, impressive faucet. Place a gold console next to it, with a vase of fresh flowers on it.
Forgo a chest of drawers in favor of a black countertop with a white bowl-shaped sink. Hang a large mirror in a gold frame above it. Hang the towels on a gold stand, and place black containers for soap or cosmetics (preferably imitating marble) on the countertop. When it comes to the toilet bowl, opt for a white model.
Plant a large, green plant in a black ceramic pot. And what kind of lighting will emphasize the glamour atmosphere? Preferably two ceiling lamps in the shape of gold balls.
