Small tiles are elements in which at least one of the sides is a maximum of 4.8 cm. At most, as they can be really tiny! In this case, they are called mosaics. Due to their size, they blend perfectly with minimalist interiors. However, they also harmonize equally well with loft arrangements, and even glamour stylistics!

Don't be fooled by their size, because small tiles have great power! They have many advantages and relatively few disadvantages! They wonderfully emphasize the space - they introduce order, separate zones. They will work well in both small and large apartments - they do not overwhelm, but subtly enliven the space! In addition to functionality, the undoubted advantage of small tiles is their appearance! The variety of patterns and colors seems endless! Small tiles do not have to be perfectly cut squares or rectangles! They can come in very fancy shapes: fish scale, arabesque, honeycomb, flabellum.
Small kitchen tiles
Although there are many ways to finish the wall above the countertop, small kitchen tiles enjoy the greatest recognition. Of course, not without reason. They are extremely attractive in perception, and at the same time functional. They are not afraid of high temperatures or greasy stains, which are common during cooking!
Energetic, intense colors and interesting patterns will match simple furniture and accessories. On the other hand, subtle and subdued colors will go with milled or aged furniture, characteristic of the rustic style.
A kitchen decorated in an industrial style? Nothing is lost! Contrary to what one might think, loft interiors do not exclude the use of small tiles. Ceramic brick in a mini version will be perfect here! Depending on the design, we can choose black or gray.
Small bathroom tiles
Small bathroom tiles can act as the dominant finishing material or, on the contrary - be a decorative element of the interior! This is a great idea for a decorative frame around the mirror or the bathtub!
The safest and most universal solution will be tiles in subdued colors - uniform or covered with a delicate, marble pattern. This is especially important for small bathrooms. Such ceramics are much lighter in perception, and additionally, they optically enlarge the space!
If we have a large area at our disposal, we can be a bit more daring! Play with shapes, textures, shades! Small bathroom tiles will perfectly fit here as a guardian of the interior - this is the simplest and at the same time extremely effective way to designate a bathing zone!
Small tiles - what to remember?
Laying small tiles, especially mosaics, is quite a challenge. In their case, it is impossible to hide or cover up unevenness or lack of leveling. However, for the final effect, it's worth the effort!
If we want to avoid unpleasant surprises, we must properly prepare the substrate beforehand! Before starting any work, clean it of dust and other contaminants - residues of adhesives, waxes, or greases. Make sure it is: stable, even, absorbent!
