Eclectic Interiors

The eclectic style is a way of arranging that cannot be captured in fixed, defined frames. What is characteristic of it is diversity. While in other styles we can distinguish several features that are common to all projects, eclectic interiors escape all definitions. The only thing that connects them is a mixture of several styles, and you can even combine seemingly contradictory compositions.

It would seem that in that case, eclecticism in interiors is a lack of rules. Nothing could be further from the truth. When arranging eclectic apartments, you need to be careful to properly combine individual elements, e.g. with a constant recurring motif or choose one of the styles as the dominant one. In this way, we will avoid the impression of chaos and disorder, and our space will retain its original appearance. Read the text below and you will learn everything that is most important, and the concept of interior eclecticism will no longer raise any doubts.

Eclectic Style

We already know that interiors in the eclectic style are a mixture of different styles. In order for such an apartment not to lose its internal coherence, it is worth sticking to the 70:20:10 rule. What does it mean? One style should be chosen as dominant, and the other two, in appropriate proportions, as a supplement. In this way, we will not disturb the balance, and an ill-considered arrangement will not be created in the room.

You can also choose a specific theme, color, pattern or material that will be used in each room. Thanks to this, we will create a coherent dominant for the entire interior in the eclectic style.

It should be remembered that although the eclectic style in an apartment is often based on contrasts and elements that would seem to come from completely different projects, it also has its limits. When combining furniture, materials, textures and colors, maintain moderation - without it, it is easy to lose style and good taste, and the interior will simply turn out to be a collection of random things.

Interiors in the Eclectic Style

Who is the eclectic style actually for? First of all, for those who do not like schemes and designing according to a few or a dozen strictly defined rules. The eclectic style in interiors will provide a lot of freedom in arrangement. It will also be suitable for people who like to stand out, are original and expect the same from their apartment.

Eclectic interiors encourage experiments and frequent changes. Therefore, we can safely recommend them to those who cannot decide on one concept or often rearrange their apartment. After applying the base, it is enough to choose the remaining elements, and these can even be small additions. Thanks to this, over time, we will easily replace them with new ones, thus transforming the apartment into a completely different space.

Tiles for Interiors in the Eclectic Style

Eye-catching tiles will certainly fit into eclectic interiors. They can both play the role of a leitmotif and dominate in a given room, as well as be a background for other solutions. It all depends on what styles we will be combining.

When finishing an apartment in an eclectic style, it is worth choosing a mosaic. It is a choice that will provide many arrangement possibilities. The wide range of patterns and colors of Raw Decor mosaics makes it easy to match them to any vision and project.

Moreover, it is not only the fulfillment of aesthetic requirements related to style, but also a number of practical functions. Mosaics are characterized by low water absorption and are easy to clean, making them ideal for the kitchen or bathroom. Raw Decor mosaics are sold in sheets and placed on a special mesh. Thanks to this, you can easily adjust them to the surface - you do not have to cut the tiles themselves, but only the mesh. It also allows you to detach individual elements and replace them. This allows you to create a unique pattern and combine different colors or models. This solution is especially important when we decide on eclectic interiors.

Models that will facilitate playing with colors and creating personalized combinations include, in particular, the Hexagon, Arabesque or Flabellum tiles. However, tiles for an interior in the eclectic style do not have to have the same pattern. To achieve an interesting and original space, it is also worth experimenting with shapes and choosing two different mosaic models, while giving them consistency by choosing similar shades. Those looking for bold solutions, on the other hand, can go wild and opt for two completely different models - both in terms of their shape and color.

Eclectic Kitchen

The kitchen is a special room in the house - not only do we prepare meals here, but it is often a place for family meetings at a common table. Therefore, it should be practical, timeless and stylish. Therefore, when arranging an apartment in the eclectic style, it is the kitchen and bathroom that may cause the greatest concerns. However, sticking to the 70:20:10 rule will not be that difficult.
The dominant style is easiest to introduce by properly matching kitchen cabinets. For a modern style, bright, glossy kitchen fronts with a concrete-imitating countertop will work well. Classic style can be introduced through traditional fronts and a marble countertop, while the Scandinavian style is characterized by bright cabinets and a wooden kitchen countertop.
To break the selected arrangement and introduce the eclectic style, then choose tiles with a contrasting look. Combine modern cabinets with a classic Arabesque, and complement traditional fronts with a mosaic from the Metropolis Holo collection. The possibilities of combinations are unlimited in this case and depend only on the vision for this particular room.
When finishing eclectic apartments, it is also worth being guided by practical aspects in your choice. A matte mosaic is easier to clean - no traces of water are visible on its surface, and dirt also remains less visible. In this way, you will not only achieve an interesting kitchen look, but also maintain its functionality. Of course, this does not mean that you should avoid mosaics finished in gloss - it is worth choosing a model that best suits individual needs.

Bathroom - Eclectic Interiors

It is worth introducing the eclectic style in the bathroom through a mosaic. As we mentioned earlier, it is not only an aesthetic solution, but also a very functional one. Of course, there are no imposed rules here, but it is best to learn a few tips that will help you introduce the eclectic style in interiors, especially small ones.

Small bathrooms are an arrangement challenge. In this case, it is worth choosing tiles finished in gloss - they will reflect light, which will optically enlarge and brighten the room. Thanks to this, it will seem more spacious than it actually is.

In a small bathroom, it is also easy to get an impression of being overwhelmed, e.g. by using tiles with dominant patterns or colors. However, a mosaic is a universal choice that we can use even in small quantities, e.g. as a bathtub surround or a wall in a shower enclosure. This is a good way to spice up a bathroom project with original tiles and introduce eclecticism into it.

Eclectic Style in Interiors

Individual, unique interiors in the eclectic style are certainly an option that does not succumb to changing trends. Thanks to a proper arrangement, we can create a timeless apartment.

As we have already mentioned, the eclectic style in an apartment is a combination of different styles by juxtaposing elements characteristic of them. It can be two types of mosaics, but the possibilities are much greater. What else will be a bull's-eye for the eclectic style?

Tiles with a strong color or an interesting pattern and wood will work great. It can be both a combination on the floor, e.g. a smooth transition between the kitchen and the living room, or wooden accessories or furniture against the background of a colorful mosaic wall. Wood is an element that warms the room every time, so it can also be combined with tiles with a cool shade, such as the Candy Moon Dust glass wall mosaic or Cube Marble Nero.

Give up ready-made sets of furniture. Of course, this does not mean that each of them should be completely different, because you should remember the 70:20:10 rule. However, bet on a large classic table, around which you will place 6 different chairs. You can complement a modern sofa with vintage armchairs from the Polish People's Republic era, and complete a Scandinavian bedroom with designer lamps. Experiment with materials - combine natural linen with metal elements, raw concrete slabs or a brick wall with velour or an elegant, delicate wallpaper. Such combinations based on contrast are the essence of eclecticism.

The eclectic style allows you to go wild and create a unique space. Its great advantage is that you decide how much madness you introduce into the apartment. If you do not know whether such an arrangement will work, start by adding small additions in another style to one style. These can be pillows, lamps, mirrors, decorations, rugs. Although they seem to be small elements, thanks to them you will assess whether the direction in which you are heading will provide the desired effect.
