Floor mosaic. Inspirations and tips!
When renovating or decorating an interior from scratch, we face many decisions. I think you'll agree with me that the one regarding the choice of flooring is one of the most difficult! Resistant to abrasion, stains, and aesthetic to boot? Impossible?! And yet! Mosaic meets all three conditions, and even more!

Floor mosaic
The floor stopped playing a purely functional role a long time ago. Currently, it is a full-fledged element of the interior and there is nothing to indicate that this will change! It sets the tone, shapes the style and character! It is a kind of base from which every project starts - amateur or professional. Wood, panels, stone, concrete, carpet. There are plenty of ways to finish it. So why should we choose mosaic?

Durability first and foremost!
The floor doesn't have an easy life at home. It is undoubtedly one of the most used surfaces! Every day we traverse it far and wide, often in shoes with hard soles or high heels! Carrying something hot in our hand! Moving chairs when sitting or standing up, high temperature by the fireplace, hot baths, carefree games of the youngest – panels may not survive this, while mosaic will remain intact!
Best for "underfloor heating"
The choice used to be simple – in Scandinavian countries, where most of the year is rainy and winters are frosty and snowy, wood was mainly used for flooring. In Southern Europe, on the other hand, stone was used to cool. Until underfloor heating became popular! Then everything changed. Floor mosaic is one of the best heat conductors! It does not deform and retains its original appearance throughout its lifespan.
Easy to clean!
If we consider practical aspects, floor mosaic clearly surpasses other popular solutions. Its undeniable advantage is ease of cleaning! A gentle cleaning agent is enough – even a homemade one, prepared with soap or vinegar, and that's it. Complicated impregnation, fighting accumulating pet hair or dust are eliminated.
Abundance of patterns and colors!
Honeycomb-shaped floor mosaic? Imitating marble? Reminiscent of the carefree blue Flabellum Adriatic Gloss? The abundance of patterns and colors means that Raw Decor tiles can be matched to any interior style. From classic, through vintage or retro, all the way to industrial! However, for it to look good, it should be used in exposed areas! The whole charm will disappear if we cover it with furniture, household appliances, or - even worse - a rug!

Floor mosaic will only defend itself if it is carefully laid. Otherwise, it will expose every, even the smallest, curvature or imperfection. Various colors, patterns, and shapes offer almost endless possibilities when it comes to interior design! You will appreciate its qualities mainly in the hallway, kitchen, and bathroom. It is also increasingly entering the living room!

Floor mosaic for the kitchen
Decorating the kitchen is quite a challenge! It is a place that is used intensively, which is important at different times of the day and night. The floor mosaic should be functional and timeless enough so that it still looks good even after changing the furniture or accessories. Which models meet these requirements? Flabellum, herringbone are undisputed favorites. Hexagons are also worth noting – both in the mini and maxi versions!
Floor mosaic for the bathroom
Checkerboard, floral motifs, and abstractions: black and white floor mosaic tiles are always a good idea. It has been in bathrooms for a long time, and recently it has gained even more popularity. No wonder, as it fits into every style. From classic, through rustic, all the way to industrial or minimalist! Black and white or white and black floor mosaic tiles really never go out of style!
Floor mosaic for the living room
Do you dream of a living room with a kitchen area clearly separated from the living area? Opt for a floor mosaic! In interiors inspired by the Scandinavian style, white hexagonal tiles in a charming mini version or those imitating marble will work perfectly. In modern interiors, on the other hand, it's worth going a little wild and opting for color! What about delicate pastels – pink, blue, pistachio?!
Floor mosaic for the hallway
The hallway is the area that is the calling card of the house. It welcomes us right from the threshold! Undoubtedly, it deserves a special setting! A light floor mosaic is the quickest way to enlarge it. Nothing prevents you from combining it with panels or classic planks!

Floor mosaic. What to consider when choosing?
Floor mosaic can be introduced to almost any interior, but its selection cannot be left to chance. So, what elements should we pay particular attention to? Abrasion class, functionality, aesthetics! This is the necessary minimum to achieve a satisfactory final effect!

Abrasion class
Floor mosaic is not equal to floor mosaic. It comes in different degrees of hardness and classes. The first of the above-mentioned parameters determines its resistance to scratches. It is designated using the Mohs scale. The abrasion class, in turn, defines the resistance of tiles to wear. Classes IV and V are suitable for floors.
Functionality
Color fastness, resistance to mechanical damage, temperature fluctuations, contact with strong detergents, dirt, and moisture. A good floor mosaic should have these characteristics. Why? It is usually laid in the kitchen and bathroom, places where very specific conditions prevail. That's why it is so important to use high-quality materials!
Aesthetics
One of the greater strengths, when it comes to this type of finish, is the amazing variety of patterns. Floor mosaic tiles can be smooth or textured, imitating marble, geometric or streamlined shapes. To achieve a three-dimensional effect, we can play with the finish – combine gloss with matte.
It is crucial, however, that the tiles fit into the generally accepted convention of the interior. Example: The Hexagon Small Pink Matte will not find its place in classical aesthetics, but it will feel perfect in a modern one! What about color? Warm and light colors enlarge the interior, while dark ones reduce it. It is worth remembering this when choosing a floor mosaic.
